What a super fab story! Absolutely superb illustrations by the award-winning illustrator, and bookseller favourite - Morag Hood. Sun just won't go to bed, there's far too much fun to be had - hide and seek you name it… oh and of course (eye-roll) the classic… I need a drink (heard that one about a million times).

Yes we absolutely have sympathy with little ones who just find it incredibly hard to switch off, don't want to miss out by going to bed earlier than everyone else, or who might be anxious about the dark. However, goodness me the fun and games it can be sometimes, yikes!!

This is a super fun story, loved reading it out loud at bookshop storytime this week - lots of opportunities for engagement about what might happen next, or reflecting back Sun's feelings and actions to the children to see whether the might find familiarity with the theme.

You are probably already familiar with author, Eoin McLaughlin's picture books, illustrated by Polly Dunbar (The Hug, especially). A wonderful partnership between Eoin and Morag.

Love to see more from this duo. Such a cheery and playful take on quite a stressful phase children go through (for all involved).
