The daring Kitty Quest duo need all their woolly wits about them to defeat double trouble in book 3!

By Phil Corbett (Simon & Schuster, 2024)

The guild of Kitquaroo are out on questing once more, as Woolfrik and Perigold - fearless kitties, protectors of Pawdor (double spread full colour map at the start of the book is brill) - start their third adventure in one of my favourite graphic novel series in the ice cold Meowntains. No spiritual retreat would be complete for Kitty Quest without a surprise visit from one of their arch nemeses. That’s right, the quirky, moustached, meowschevious magician Dagzobad is back!! He’s only gone and nicked the last remaining magical ancient knitting needle cat whisker from the ‘Whiskered Snowcat of the Grand Meowntains’!!

It isn’t until they managed to get back to Kitquaroo (travelling by ‘aerocab’ with questionable health & safety), that Perigold discovers a letter from the last person she’d ever expect… her secret evil sister - Princess Horribelle. Not only is she the most awful kitty, but Woolfrik realises that Perigold is actually a Princess too and ran away from her evil family for a life of good and serving others. Awwww.

Well you can imagine that once this ‘sinister sister’ finally turns up - and yikes does she make an entrance - things start to go really wrong. Princess Horibelle’s addiction to causing trouble and disaster make her a prime target for partnering up with the malevolent Dagzobad. Luckily they are about as useless as a chocolate teapot when it comes to the ancient and extremely powerful enchanted knitting needles and their monster woolly evil plot hilariously backfires.

It feels like it was such a long wait for book 3, but I’m thrilled it’s finally out there. A quest of my own has uncovered a book 4 is publishing in October 2024 - ‘Kitty Quest: Phantom Frenzy’..which sounds like it might be a super ghosty adventure around Halloween. YAY!!
